Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Book Club Buddy app for Slack (the “Service”), provided by Book Club Buddy (“Book Club Buddy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and authority

You represent that you are authorized to install and use the Service on behalf of your Slack workspace and that you will ensure your users comply with these Terms.

2. Use of the Service

• You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Slack workspace and user accounts.
• You must not misuse the Service or attempt to access it in unauthorized ways.

3. Slack and third-party services

The Service operates within Slack and depends on Slack APIs. Your use of Slack is subject to Slack’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for Slack’s services or availability.

4. Data and privacy

Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. You agree that we may access and process data from Slack as described there.

5. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

• Certain features may require a paid plan or active trial.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, and your billing information is handled by Stripe.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated in writing.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its code, design, and content, is owned by Book Club Buddy and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service while these Terms remain in effect.

7. User content

You retain ownership of content you provide to the Service (such as book club names and book details). You grant us permission to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service.

8. Term and termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Book Club Buddy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Book Club Buddy from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing law
